Nicki Minaj has done many great things as she's been put into the world of fame, but there's certain things people don't recognize her for. When people see her, they instantly think rapper or artist; that's who she it, but it's what she's done to become who she is that's important. Down below is a list of accomplishments that she's done to become the successful women she is now; this is to somewhat give her and this topic a good closure.
This year, 2012, Nicki decided to take the initiative to become closer to her fans, and so she made her own perfume called, "Pink Friday". For the first time, the perfume is made to appeal to both men and women with a scent for either gender. She launched her perfume based off of her first album title, Punk Friday and the perfume is a nice citrusy spritz. She released her perfume in mid September.

Before the fame, Nicki and her family were broke and it crossed her mind that she wants her mother to feel the empowerment of being an individual. Minaj made it her mission in life to become famous and then be able to afford her mother her own home; that would make it easier to live life apart from her mom's abusive husband and would grant her female empowerment.

To jump start her career as a female rapper, Nicki was discovered off of MySpace and was instantly signed to a famous record label called, Young Money. Lil Wayne was more than happy to sign Nicki as the first female member of the group. Minaj and Lil Wayne then decided to make a mixtape, now known as their 3rd, Beam Me Up, Scotty; this song made fame instantly and Nicki then decided to start making her own music as well and has done some songs with Drake such as, Moment For Life.

In 2012, Minaj won the Moonman award for the beat female music video award for her amazing song, Starships. Minaj was stunned by winning with her summer-hit song and strongly felt the support from her fan base, Barbz.

To end this post, I want to explain what Nicki has made herself out to be. She is judged by so many people that just know her for who she is today, and not what she has done. She's bashed on sites like Twitter, Tumblr, and especially celebrity gossip sites such as Perez Hilton; people aren't aware of what she went through as a child to become successful and to help her mother become independent. If I have been through what she has, I know for a fact I would be a mess instead of a hit sensation rapper.
